Welcome to the Orphanage Filled with a Family Atmosphere
On September 16, 2005, in the small town of Kahovka, Ukraine in Herson region, House of Joy orphanage opened. On the first day of its existence it accepted the five first residents. The orphanage is designated for 50 children - orphans by choice or by death.

One of its distinctive features is the fact that it is designated for a comparatively small number of children (opposed to most of the Ukrainian orphanages, where the number of kids can be 200-300). The age of the kids that can be accepted into the orphanage runs from 3 to 18 years. Our utmost desire is for the children to live as one big family, where our teachers would become the closest people to them by sharing their motherhood love and helping them out with parental advice. House of Joy is a real home that never ceases to look for ways to give the little children joy, peace, and hope for a bright future. This is the next generation of Ukrainians.

Our children are brought up in a special environment - House of Joy does not follow typical pattern of past Ukrainian orphanages. The children attend local schools and kindergartens, and at the end of the day come back home.
