With the help of 'Reach the Children' fund three best students of the House of Joy have been rewarded with a trip to Kiev right before the New Year eve. Those three kids, that appeared to be all girls - Fatima, Diana and Lena, have made major progress in their studies, have shown model behavior for the rest of the House' residents and were obedient before their teachers. Lubov' Terentievna, the House of Joy' principal accompanied girls to Kiev.
During two days of their staying in the festive Kiev, the capital guests got to see the historical center of the city, its main cultural and administrative buildings, rode metro (underground) and funicular (a tram that goes up and down the hill and exposes a great river view of the city) for the first time in their life. Their itinerary also had some touring and entertainment. Bottom line: children hardly had any free time to spare: We were concerned if they had enough strength to handle all that…

On the second day of their staying in Kiev our children had a special event prepared for them - a participation in the opening ceremony of the President's Christmas tree. At that program they had a chance to meet and make friends with other children from different parts of Ukraine, play with clowns and circus actors and then actually watch the major Christmas production.
The winners well enjoyed the beauty of festive Kiev generously decorated with Christmas lights.
